  4.     Now the Rev. Jesse Jackson wishes to be called an African
  5. American (NATION, Jan. 2). However, as a Hungarian American married
  6. to a British-Canadian American living in a community of Native
  7. Americans, I dream of the day when we are all just considered
  8. Americans. Perhaps if we accentuate our similarities, instead of
  9. our differences, we can destroy the bastions of American racism.

  15. they are not the same as black Americans, whose forefathers were
  16. brought here by force and made to stay. Jesse, leave this issue
  17. alone. I am a black American.
